Something to help new producers.

I found this quote that I think will help those that are new like me to producing, because there's nothing worse than putting your all into a track then listening to something 100 times better, This will help.
“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”

I hope it helped you as much as it helped me :)

Did you see this on wimp? Theres a great little video where he says this.

This is basically how I maintain my motivation lol. Might sound like shit, but on the bright side at least I know it does. And my productions are always getting better.

I've been fighting for two straight years man, fighting and fighting like you would not believe, shit you should see my production related scars bro. I'm tired though, so very tired. I can't go on fighting for much longer but I don't dare stop for fear of the consequences. You see, I got out of the slums man, out of the shanty town and now im standing on my own two feet but maybe one of my legs has been cut by some shrapnel in the last shootout i had. But it's like I'm on the precipice, a ledge between freedom and a return back to the slums behind me.'

I'm scared dsf, Im so very scared and if anything, this motivational maxim isnt helping, its just like someone from a penthouse way uptown flying down in their private helicopter and encouraging, all the while the wind from those blades is pushing me back down.

Loaded paint, posted my wallpaper in paint, made a text box, and pasted the quote.

My inspiration for the day. ;)

I actually kind of figured this out, but this more or less confirms it.

It's weird, coz all these people around me put tracks on SC and I don't think they are quality tracks. But they seem to think
they made another master piece and have everyone listen to it. I could upload some of my tracks but I just feel like
it can't be that good yet :D

I'm guilty of putting up my productions early in development. I did it to see if people liked it, but not I don't really do it for them I do it for myself. And I think once you got that concept in your head you can better yourself.

That's a lot of metaphors in one paragraph!

It sounds like you don't enjoy whatever it is your doing so why are you doing it? If I'm not having fun I will quit, Simple as that!

well, i guarantee you the greatest artists in the world did not enjoy what they were doing - it's more an outlet for pain than a bringer of joy.

you think picasso was happy while painting, or that kevin shields was happy - like ever?

I'd that applies in some cases, but not all. Kurt Cobain might have hated every minute of it, but Mick Jagger thinks it's the best thing ever.
