Systems and nights changing your perception of tunes

I know this is pretty similar to a few other threads, but after the night I was at last night I was thinking... what are some tunes you didn't really like, or get, until you heard them on a system in the right atmosphere?

I was at this monthly Melbourne event called Wobble last night (any of the Melbourne crew on here in attendance?) and one DJ Kamo played an amazing vinyl set made up of a lot of Deep Medi, DMZ and Tempa records. Aside from hearing Loefah - Mud on a system for the first time, and it living up to all expectations and then some, I was surprised by VIVEK - Eyes Down. It was always my least-favourite tune on the EP, but hearing it last night closing a set on a massive soundsystem in a dark room filled with deep heads and surprisingly hot women, it absolutely blew my mind. Atmosphere was amazing and the weight was ridiculous. Was also pleasantly surprised by Hijak - Dally (never realised quite how heavy this one is) and Vex'd - Angels.

So yeah, what are some other tunes that you just didn't understand until you heard them out?

I'm sort of obsessed right now haha but I'm assuming that most of vex'd's tunes are even better on a system (well all dubstep is, but the Vex'd style of system music especially). That's an assumption, I've never actually heard Vex'd on a full system :(

So jealous of that. Those of us in the states will never get to hear that stuff on a proper rig.

Would like to hear this out:

Not necessarily man, at least in America you guys have people like Joe Nice and such. Sure, we might get the chance to hear these tunes every now and then but it's far more common around here to get shows like the Skism/Zomboy/TC one we had the other week. I can only imagine the ear rape that took place... UK producers tour the US way more than Australia. Guess it depends on which state you're in though

I didn't fully understand how sick Badman and Kryptic Minds were until I heard it on a system.

Yeah that's another one for me, didn't like Earth Run A Red until I heard it on a system. And yeah, saw Kryptic minds not long ago. Badman didn't get played and as a result I still don't really get the big deal about it, but when they dropped the VIP I lost my shit
