Getting ASIO to run on everything?

So if you are familiar with ASIO you will be aware that while your DAW is open, no other sound outside of your DAW works. As well as shutting down anything that is using your sound card before syncing asio & your daw.
Rather frustrating but before I went ahead and committed to it, can ASIO4ALL fix this? Any set backs I should be aware of or am I completely in the wrong direction?

No sorry man afaik ASIO4all is the same, it will cancel out any other audio or it wont play audio itself if you have both running... check and see if your daw which ever one you are using has the option to allow background audio to take over when you switch back and forth. Cubase has this option although i never really use it.
Also check if your soundcard has that same option, my built in soundcard on my laptop had it so im sure your soundcard should have it also. Just go to the properties of your playback device and check under the advanced tab if its available.

Ehhh, really? I can get audio coming from Ableton and iTunes, YouTube etc. at the same time.
Could someone clarify? Am I somehow not using ASIO?

Okay, what the fuck. Ever since I've gotten this new laptop I've been having all sorts of weird ASIO issues. One being since I installed my ASIO, everything that isn't in ASIO sounds like shit. So watching youtube videos all the lows and mids are cut out. So I get this shit quality sound. So if I ever want to listen to a tune off youtube will full mids and lows I have to rip it off youtube, open FL, run ASIO, and play it through there. What the fuck. I'm not sure if I should be angry at ASUS for their shit sound cards they put in this cunting thing or ASIO.

?
ASIO is a driver for external sound cards dude; if you're using an internal sound card you either have to use the driver they provided for you or ASIO4ALL. No wonder your shit isn't work.

I use ASIO4all and it does get a little annoying. If I want to switch over to youtube or something I just quick switch back to "primary sound driver" in FL and listen to whatever I need. One thing that doesn't help though, when I switch back to primary my volume is no longer the same so if I'm using a media player to play a reference track for a specific part of my mix it's not really seamless.

Is this not just because your using ASIO4ALL? I had that problem before i got my saffire. Using saffire ASIO drivers now and I can play audio from multiple sources at the same time
