"his stuff" is possibly the reason for all dance-orientated music we have today. tubby was the first to build a mobile soundsystem with inbuilt verbs and delays, and the first to create an instrumental "dub" on which toasters like u-roy and dennis alcapone could chat and sing over, argueably the begginings of the dj and mc culture that is so prominent today.

I'm not sure this bit is correct (but the rest is spot on). Live dubbing on soundsystems wasn't a feature in the early to mid 70s afaik.

Similarly deejays chatting over instrumentals is something that goes back to the 60s - Treasure Isle, Studio One etc.

Tubby's innovation was to make the straight instrumental b-sides much stranger by adding effects etc. Which is definitely a major contribution to music, no doubt about that.
