-0db Limiting

Once I finish my mixdowns, I just throw a limiter on it and make it rest at -0db peak. I've run my projects through Spek and I've noticed that it is only sitting around -2db. Why is this?

Its your DAW counteracting the loudness war.

How do I fix this? Because to my knowledge I thought I was creating fluent enough mix downs.

have you tried using another analyzer?
you do realise that speks vertical axis is showing frequency ? the db level is shown by the colour, so the louder parts are red, quieter parts blue/purple etc
so yeh your tunes prob are peaking at 0db. grab a free freq analyzer and level meter. also worth grabbing this
http://www.solidstatelogic.com/music/X-ISM/ and this
