Anonymous Launches Operation Cannabis 420
The Legion of Lulz is wading into America's newly reignited Weed War and building a two-front opposition to marijuana prohibition. On one hand, the collective is organizing marches and demonstrations around the world on October 1st. And, on the other, in classic Anon fashion, the group is also collecting personal information on those it refers to as "narco-warriors" to later release.
Greetings from Anonymous and Team Vendetta,
As many are aware, Operation Cannabis 420 is a grass roots effort to bring all who use cannabis together for the purpose of legalization. Our efforts have been largely successful in terms of raising awareness and getting the word out. Our video and press releases for Operation Cannabis 420 - Phase 1 have reached countless numbers of people thanks to the internet and the pro-cannabis media. The support we have garnered for this operation is better than we could have dreamed.
Now, we would like to welcome you all to Operation Cannabis 420 - Phase 2! In this phase of the operation we will be focusing on two objectives: 1) Organizing several worldwide marches for cannabis legalization, the first of which is scheduled for October 1st (some of you may live in countries where the 1st falls on a Monday and might need to march a day sooner) and 2) Bringing to the forefront the "narco-warriors" (as they have come to be known). These are primarily the police unions, the private prison contractors, big pharmaceutical companies, the alcohol and tobacco industries, the corporate lobbyists for these organizations and the politicians who accept payoffs to legislate in their favor. These are the people who have a financial stake in keeping cannabis illegal, and are willing to spread lies, incarcerate cannabis users and ruin people's lives. No more. We are calling them out and will not rest day or night until they end their unjust war on cannabis users.
This is a wake up call. Every single person who uses cannabis and every single person who supports our right to do so must take a stand now. We have too many people languishing in jail for marijuana "offenses". We have too many people who are still ignorant to the facts of this miracle drug. It has been shown that THC can actually kill brain cancer cells, and also slow the rate of regeneration. It's been proven that cannabis is extremely beneficial to cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy. These are just some of the benefits we are being denied because of the sleazy activity of a greedy minority.
Join us as we venture to put a stop to this once and for all. Organize an October 1st march for cannabis in your city/town. Talk to everyone. Make people aware. This fight could be won by simple math alone. We have far greater numbers. It's time to put them to use.
Sincerely,
Team Vendetta
Pulling up a chair to watch this one.

Yeah, they've made a lot of big blustery claims that amounted to nothing in the past, and there's definitely gonna be fallout from the association of the two.
But I'd also love to see some dirt on the Attorney General for Northern California that's been shutting down 215-compliant dispensaries with a vengeance. Something tells me she's got issues... she needs a public shaming.

Why rely on Anonymous?
There's a public debate been initiated in Sydney by a panel of health experts & politicians recommending decriminalization
and propogated by local broadsheet The Sydney Morning Herald.
Of course the closed-minded arguments of the drugs-killed-my-child parents and ooh-no-drugs-are-bad frightened politicians are being trotted out but so is the reformist side...including police
just need the Ralf Nader, Chela Sandoval, Harvey Milk, David Brower, Ron Kovic type activist heroes
(if you don't know who these people are, you probably know too much about pop stars)
and exposure of the vested interests
via thorough investigation, meetings, graffiti, posters, facebook campaigns, petitioning politicians etc
The old hippie attempts have failed
time to fire up the new media
and get this one won.

Along these lines... from Penn Jilette's radio show:
Do we believe, even for a second, anybody believe that if Obama had been busted for marijuana, under the laws that he condones, would his life have been better? … If he had been busted under his laws, he would have done hard fucking time. And if he had done time in prison, time in federal prison, time for his ‘weed' and ‘a little blow,' he would not be President of the United States of America. He would not have gone to his fancy ass college. He would not have sold books that sold millions and millions of copies and made millions and millions of dollars. He would not have a beautiful, smart wife. He would not have a great job. He would have been in fucking prison, and it's not a god damn joke! People who smoke marijuana must be set free. It is insane to lock people up.

dispensaries are sometime a problem, as they rally against full legalization in favor of more medicinally inclined laws so they can maintain their hold on sales. i'm not sick or in chronic pain so I'm not interested in pretending like I am for a half legal card
i try to vote for people who feel the same way when i can, locally
and wait for Cascadia to secede

Peter Hitchens is a snake, he deliberately talks up inflamatory material that most people would barely consider even being sarcastic about it's that bad but he frames it that way to wind idiots up
How the fuck did he get in on that though!?

Pretty sure they love it. It just gives them more 'evidence' to use for new laws and bills they introduce.

They can always find 'evidence' to pass the laws they want though so that doesnt really matter, what they dont like is when their private phone calls and details of their dodgy shit gets posted online by some 12 yr old kid.

Anonymous has actually been pretty tough for the US Gov to deal with. If you've seen how the media portrays them, they're super-hacker, baby raping, gore-addicted losers with malicious intent. That's only because of the association Anonymous has with 4chan obviously, but most of the Anonymous members are quite the opposite. Everything they've done really has been for the lulz or for the people, so it kind of saddens me when people label them as evil monsters.
