Best headphones for under £100?

Okay, so I need a decent pair of headphones which I can use for producing and also for DJ'ing (Will be used for producing like 75% more though) but I'm kindda limited to a budget of around £100...

My last headphones were Panasonic RP-HT225's (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/P ... kInfo=true) which were pretty shit to be honest. Had no sub bass or anything and anything I tried to produce with 'em sounded terribly mixed on a half decent system

I have the upper market KRK headphones, they do a pair for 89 quid, they're solid for the price.

Thus far my favourite is the A&H xd-40, got em for around 45 quid. Great build quality, nice balanced sound.
Don't expect powerful bass, but that's not something you'd want anyway.

For producing I'd go with some fat Beyerdynamics. I can get the mother of all discounts on them but
I'm obviously not allowed to resell or anytin :)

Lookin' at the Beyerdynamics, looking sick. What's with the discounts? Also, any in particular for producing EDM? They look like they have quite a large range of products! :O

I bought some sennheiser hd 215's for general use, tbh i wouldn't recommend them for production as they sound a bit boxy. I use akg k702's for producing, the difference is night and day. If i was you i'd save up and get them, they sound awesome.

They offer great discounts for audio students. All great headphones, just go with what ever you're comfortable with spending.
Or -like VirtualMark said-, AKG studio headphones. Rarely hear bad things about those.

Don't mean to bring back an old thread, but would these discounts stretch to a Music Tech, a level student, hoping to study music production at uni? :6:

I have the 6400 model, pretty nice headphones for the price. They're very comfortable even after I've had them on for hours and the sound is crystal clear to me, they sound relatively flat from what I can tell and vocals really come through quite nicely.

I'd definitely recommend them, if you can stretch your cash and get the 8400's though i'd do that...I've heard they are slighty clearer and have better bass response. Plus if I'm not mistaken they have a volume control on the cable too.

Sol Republic Tracks, I have the Tracks HD which are 130 and they are great. The only problem i have with them is they hurt my ears after about an hour and i have to give my ears a break because they aren't over ear headphones.

Yeah it's definitely better to go with over ear headphones when producing, comfort is a huge part of the decision, for me, when buying headphones

Found a b-stock pair of AKG K 240 MK II's on the Digital Village site today for £80.33. Apparently they had been sent back within their 30 day return policy and have been fully tested etc. My old, battered HD 25's don't cut the mustard.

I'm expecting great things... :corndance:

I have a $12 pair of Behringer headphones I started using like 5 years ago. I think it's more important to just find a pair and start getting used to the sound. Literally start using them for all listening activities.
