Question About NI Massive

Is the dimensional expander in Massive mono-safe? What I mean is that if a song is switched to mono, will a massive patch with dimensional expander on it still sound good?

I have and I can't tell if it's losing volume or that's just how mono sounds. A non-sarcastic answer would be nice once in awhile though...nowaysj wrote:Switch your song to mono, and you tell us.
It was sarcastic because you aren't answering my question. Why would I post this if I haven't tried it myself? I'm looking for insight of others not someone telling me to do what I've already done.nowaysj wrote:That wasn't sarcasm. You need to judge for yourself. They're your tracks, you have to be the decider.
Ok then, does the dimensional expander sound good in mono?nowaysj wrote:Tell you what, every time you want to know if something sounds good, like you did in your question there, hit me up, I'll tell you what is good and what is bad, I'll be the decider.
Are you just saying that or did you try it?nowaysj wrote:Yep
Its a stereo effect. So if you put it on an element (like a low/mid bassline) that you will later switch to mono then it will lose some of its presence and, obviously, its width. How much it looses depends entirely on what sound you are using it on, what level of wet/dry you have on the dimension expander itself and how high in the mix the particular element is.OfficialDAPT wrote:Is the dimensional expander in Massive mono-safe? Thanks for a real answer.JFK wrote:Its a stereo effect. In all honesty though, and I know its not what you want to hear, Noways is correct. It really comes down to if you like the way it sounds or not as the phrase "will it sound good?" is entirely subjective.
Don't trouble your pretty little head, just do what I say.OfficialDAPT wrote:Are you just saying that or did you try it?nowaysj wrote:Yep
Nah I'll just ignore your advicenowaysj wrote:Don't trouble your pretty little head, just do what I say.OfficialDAPT wrote:Are you just saying that or did you try it?nowaysj wrote:Yep
It sounds OK... All the stereo width is gone of course so the whole track sounds a little flat to me. Telling if the volume relative to everything else is the same in stereo and mono is the part I'm having trouble with.Coolschmid wrote:So does it sound good on your track or not?
There you go, now you're getting it.OfficialDAPT wrote:Nah I'll just ignore your advicenowaysj wrote:Don't trouble your pretty little head, just do what I say.OfficialDAPT wrote:Are you just saying that or did you try it?nowaysj wrote:Yep
It would be nice if you just didn't post in the first place though.nowaysj wrote:There you go, now you're getting it.OfficialDAPT wrote:Nah I'll just ignore your advicenowaysj wrote:Don't trouble your pretty little head, just do what I say.OfficialDAPT wrote:Are you just saying that or did you try it?nowaysj wrote:Yep
