This isn't an advertisement actually. It's a review. I don't get a commission from Adam or Genelec for reviewing speakers BTW. I posted this because lots of my students want to know how to pick reference monitors and I thought this would be useful. Cheers!Immerse wrote:cant watch the video at the moment, but heres a tip if you dont mind. i think folks on DSF would back your videos a lot more if you posted not only for advertisement! that said i really have learned a lot from the vids so keep it up.
Well, consider yourself lucky to be starting that young. You'll be able to afford speakers eventually. I started with crap speakers when I first got going, then upgraded, and upgraded. You're working on the skills and reading the forums. That's a great place to start. Best of luck with your tunes mate!PhotonOfficial wrote:It's a shame. I suppose even if I did have the money, I wouldn't know where to start haha
Curse these Logitech speakers...
Yeah, you can find dec used monitors for sure. Even KRK Rockits are pretty cheap. Or, ask your parents to help you out. My folks were eager to support me in music when I was your age. If they see it as a legit passtime, they might help out.Immerse wrote:youre ahead of the game just producing at that age man. save up your birthday money and look for some m audio dx-4's on craigslist or other monitors. 2nd hand is perfectly fine.
think he's saying people would pay you more mind if you hung out on the reg rather than whenever you have new contentVespers wrote:This isn't an advertisement actually. It's a review. otherwise it does come off as advertisement even if just for your own free content
Fair enough. Here's my dilemma. I only have so many hours in the week to devote to education/forums/social media. I spend most of my time creating videos: reviews, tutorials etc. as I find people get the most value out of them. A single video is typically watched thousands of times, helping each viewer to some degree. If I spend all my time on forums, I don't end up making any more vids. Most forums appreciate me posting tutorials and reviews even though I can't hang out all the time, but that seems not to be the case here. All good.deadly habit wrote:think he's saying people would pay you more mind if you hung out on the reg rather than whenever you have new contentVespers wrote:This isn't an advertisement actually. You only have 12 posts. You're not allowed to have an opinion. LOL, I kid I kidspoot088 wrote:I think that it is an advertisement.
No one is against the spreading of useful knowledge about studio monitors.
Its just that it comes off as blatant self-promotion given the sporadic nature of you're postings.
I had to stop getting hair cuts so I could afford the studio monitorsMammoth wrote:At least you're understanding

Totally fair brotha. Understood.deadly habit wrote:we appreciate what you post, it isn't like you have to partake full time
it's just nice to see people partake beyond spamming their own content
all that is being said
like ffs even a post a month as a response to a random thread shows you are part of the community more than just updates of your own content
like ie i know this shit your posting and half the shit on here, but i still hang out and try to help time to time and it takes me maybe 5 mins a night as a reg here
Glad to hear it. All the best.Immerse wrote:with all that said, i love your content your doing producers everywhere a service. youve taught me a lot
