I mean theres always Boiler Room and Rinse, dont get me wrong,
But like I seems alot of artists are avoiding putting mixes up and recordings of sets..... presumably to keep dubs special which I totally understand...
or is it just me?

I remember when Djing was about exhibiting your record collection for the purpose of entertaining and educating your crowd.

haven't posted on here for quite a while but this made me want to shout YES!!!
Why would you not do mixes for the point of keeping back dubs.....
Maybe it's hard to entertain and also educate as a DJ when you've got 20'000 mp3's which never get properly picked up, explored, appreciated, but also when the cheapness/availability of the most up-to-date digital release means as a dj you hit a default setting of primarily playing only the "freshest" shit. Owing a real record collection allows you to define yourself through the body of works you've collected and taken time to explore. The passion for discovery, collection and appreciation of (new) music will come across through the person who does this and the way in which they present their records as DJ
Just a late night (drunken) thought....

Remember when calling them "dubs" actually meant something?
