and ''bass music'' in general. It opened the door for the identikit 'bass music' tracks...boring 808 loops, sub bass, plinky plonky winky wonky wanky synths lines and stuttery/weird vocal samples.
Discuss.

as much as i love that track i have to agree with you to a certain extent here lol
i think sicko cell and all the ramadanman stuff that emerged in 2010/2011 were also strong influences on the '808 bass music' sound though.

and i like all that stuff - just don't like all the cookie cutter replica half arsed 808 stuff that came out after it.

That new Joy O track Ellipsis is cut from virtually the same template too.

Whoa, a diss thread for some of the best tunes in past few years.
Maybe that shit is played out over there, but here there is not enough of it.

Never understood why that stuff gets labelled as fresh and forward thinking, all i hear is rehashing of sounds that have been around since the 90s

Never knew if Glut was some sort of self referential scene joke we were all missing out in...did it purposely rhyme with Wut, or was it a sly nod to the glut of tracks that followed it, each trying to copy the same punch recipe but just adding more water to dilute the original (admittedly, quite tasty) flavour into stretching that little bit further, the product itself deteriorating as it flows down the into the general release area.

Because it was being pioneered by people not born when it was around first time around, or at least weren't old enough to experience it.
The same people for whom the term 'classic tune' refers to shitty template tracks made since they took their first dab of mandy.

I like Glut but I wish Rama made more tunes like on the Ramadanman EP

Fixed, but pretty much.
I think I even have some old 130 - 140 BPM Miami Bass on cassette somewhere.

This too, but also slightly fixed.
I can't even talk about Electro to a lot of people because that term has been re-appropriated and I often wonder if people know that the "step" in Dubstep came from 2-step.
