But how the layering is really done? And i'm now talking bout mid and sub bass.
I have this mid bass that i highpassed round 130hz and sub bass lowpassed round 50-60hz. Now someone gave me feedback about my wip and said that i need to layer my mid to some bass sound. So should i try to eq my sub so it plays round 80hz (kick rolls off there) or should i make a copy of my sub and take the notes up a bit and highpass it round that 50-60hz and lowpass round 70-80hz?

And i also did read somewhere that my subbass should hit couple of decibels lower, does this mean the decibel meter or does it mean the freqs should hit there?
Because it feel too loud if it mean the decibel meter or am i doing something wrong?

I normally cut my sub bass at around 80hz. For your Mid range you could duplicate it and make a slight variation of your original bass that hits higher or lower on the spectrum. Then just simply EQ these 2 layers so they sit well together.
Make sure you cut off 80hz on your mid range as well so these do not conflict with the sub. I find sub bass hits really hard on notes E, F and G.
