these have, what I would call, good 'build ups' and 'drops', I don't know if it's what you're looking for though.

"Drops" aren't the point of house music. Its all about soul.

because build ups and drops are way more oriented towards and associated with stuff like electro, drum and bass and dubstep compared to house and techno (in my personal opinion that is).

biggest drop in house music. 11 years old but still massive.

Tough beats, great melody, deep bass and a disco sample.

a build-up drop is a self contained pre-made version of classic bait&switch dj mixing, relying on contrasting elements to surprise/shock the listener. unfortunatly this device gets over used waay too much. not only in music, but design, advertising, fashion, comedy, film, even in culinary situations, and is thus adding to the dilution and watering-down of your beloved creative culture which people seem to complain constantly about. instead why not a thread about 'best story in song told' or
'cyclic trends and their relationship with pop culture', or even 'who is your favorite song writer and why?'

I think most people on this forum who see the words BIG DROP and HOUSE in the same sentence, and just purely assume someone is talking about that big room sound cheesy Ibiza sound. It's almost as if they're afraid to post some tracks they genuinely like, for fear of tarnishing their deep, purist reputation and taste.

This Boy 8-Bit remix is a GREAT example of how the big room house sound can still work in an underground warehouse setting. Awesome remix.
