Hey guys, looking for some drum samples (not vengeance) that are preprocessed/prelayered from drum machines and real drums. Any ideas?

Well, aside from vengeance, there's prime loops, loopmasters, etc., but they sound more or less similar to vengeance. If you're looking for free samples, you're better off layering and processing them yourself. It's a pain, but it's worth it. Doesn't take that long either, I've only been messing around with big, highly compressed, brostep-ish drums the past little while, and, solely with synthesis and layering in various free acoustic drum samples that I've found, I can already make drum hits that I'm happy with. To be honest, for "brostep" drums, the sound is in the processing just as much as the source. Scoop out some of the mids and compress carefully, but heavily, and you're halfway there.

i wouldnt look for "brostep" drums... any quality drum samples will do... if you buy "brostep" labeled drum packs itll probably just be overprocessed crap rather than high quality samples you can actually use.

every snare is triple layered with reverb tails and shit, every kick is 2 kicks with a weird hat on top...

i mean if thats what you want then go for it

but id just get some clean well recorded samples of 808s, 909s and some others and go from there with processing them how you want

yup, but they are free.

@IE and Sub I have been building my own drums lately (or at least trying) with 909s and Wave Alchemy samples. They are really good clean samples, but I just feel like they're mainly only useful for minimal techno, which in all fairness was what they were made for, but it's slightly frusterating when you're trying to find a sample with a lot os highs/snap, seeing as the pack was primarily made for mostly low end stuff.

Most of the vengeance (especially the original few packs) were also stolen sounds from MP3s and such just ran through vintage warmer, so even more processing to already degraded sounds will make the quality quite bad. That's why much of them lack frequency content and sound like white noise. If you're looking for real drums layered with drum machine sounds, check out something like XLN Reel Machines which is exactly that.

I really liked the Reel Machines pack, and might consider buying the Addictive Drums plugin just for it! Any other suggestions?

if you are going to be creating brostep drums using addictive drums you will need to sample the sounds out of the plugin. you will probably need some other samples to layer with it, I'd recommend the computer music dnb drum pack. its free

+1 on that, they have very clean hits and miles better than vengeance.
i use those tbh and OP its worth learning how to layer basic drums too because once you have practice with that & a lot of EQing, it takes 5-10 minutes (if that) to make a good snare or a good kick.

will have to check some of these suggestions out.

u dun need anyhting else but vengeance. if u get all of the packs u got like 1000 000 samples...

Sorry for the long update, been really busy with schoolwork and such.
Anyway, I read the replies to the thread, and ended up going with a Loopmasters pack (http://www.loopmasters.com/product/deta ... ty-Dubstep), and I've got to say, I'm honestly not very happy with it. I know that it's a given that with this type of music you layer and process the drum sounds, but even an hour and a half straight of trying to make a snare hit work with these samples, they remained dull and not as punchy or bright as I'd like. The Prime Loops packs didn't look much better, so any more suggestions?

Zenhiser is sick! But they have so many layers and usually have some weird sort of sound added to them that just throw me off. Like the snares will have a clap and snap together and it's just a pain to make it work. Vengeance is good, but yeah, they are already processed...
