Reason Processing Patches and Apology

Looking back over my last few post here i realized that I've been taking the piss on a lot of the threads in Production, and havent been as helpful as I can be at times. In order for me to turn over a new page, I have decided to give out some reason patches and provide an explanation of what they do. I am aware that some of you will already know about these techniques and may have similar patches, but I the intent of this is to help out some people who are not familiar to reason and its routing capabilities. All of these patches were made by myself, although they do draw from other techniques, with regards to CV and audio programming. Below are three Reason patches that are designed to help in three areas of concern that I have seen come up a fair bit in the Production Board; EQ, frequency splitting, and spectrum analyzation. Hope you enjoy.

PS. all these patches should be compatible with Reason 4 to 6.5. If they are any problems let me know

EQ- The patch below however, is an audio triggered EQ. How the patch works, is that there is a redrum hooked up to sidechain input of an m-class compressor, and then an m-class EQ. The gain reduction output of the compressor is linked to the gain on the EQ. What this means it that when the sidechain is triggered, the eq cut is also enabled. It should be noted that the redrum does not out out any sound, and was envisioned to be used for drum patterns. Below are screen shots of how it looks, and a link to the download

Next up is a frequency splitter. The was this one is set, is it splits the signal into 4 and using a vocoder, send them to different frequency bands, fairly straight forward. For using insert effects, you will want to right on the vocoder, to apply them after the vocoder in the chain. For sends, insert them on the line mixer with the corresponding name to the vocoder. Again, screen shots and download links below.

Last but not least, is a frequency spectrum analyzer. This seems to the largest complaint among reason users (not including the vst debate). While this patch isnt perfect in the sense that it labels the frequencies, it is better than nothing and should point you in the right direction as to making nessecary adjustments to your sound, just dont forget to use your ears. Screen shots and download below.

Well there you thats all I got right now. Hope you all enjoy these patches and are able to use them effectively. I again want to apologize for the large amount of piss taking I've been doing recently, i hope to be more helpful in the future :t:

Set audacity up as if you were going to record from YouTube, hit record, and hit play on reason... That should work at least... On a Mac use sound flower as the input or audacity and the output for reason

To Export your project to a wav file, do the following: Click File > Export Song as Audio File.

Direct from their site;

Download Reason

Want to try out Reason? Download the software and run it in Demo Mode. Reason's demo mode is fully functional and lets you do everything you can do in authorized mode, except for opening your saved documents.
