Can you produce when others are listening/watching?

Just a quick easy question but hopefully bring out some interesting pointers about this but yeah uhh
Simply, myself, I can't produce when I know others can hear what I'm doing, especially when it's mixdown and drop arrangement time. I can never fully get into it because I know people next door, above me and my roommate could hear EVERYTHING. Every playback, every skip etc etc and I know it annoys the hell out of them but I can't produce at
Low volumes. I need it to be loud so I can really feel and hear everything. Anyone else have this problem?
IMaking music to me is very personal and every great track I've made was when I had time alone but nowadays I never do. It's almost like a conscience thing where I don't want to annoy everyone with my music because I do a lot of repeats/edits and arrangements. I'm pretty sure that's drive anyone crazy that lives next door to that

Produce, yes. Arrangements and such, not so much.

It's hard but you can get used to it, and it's nothing compared to someone not into edm sticking their nose into your screen while you try to produce

(true story)
Funny to make wet growly diahrea sounds while grandparents are visiting though

Yes,i prefer producing with people that haven't a clue because they come up with some of the best ideas for sample sources and stuff like that.I started a tune with my mate recently and he was just firing ideas.I keep a list of ideas for things to sample, chord progressions....He filled that up nicely lol
Also i don't actively listen to anything other than others soundclouds and my own stuff so sitting there with people that do listen to a lot of music gives me ideas of what sort of sound to go for and stuff like that.

I can mix with someone in the room, but sound design and shit is a different story.

I'm fine until they start asking me what this is and what that does. I always fucking HATE when people stand behind your chair and put their hands on it rocking it back and forth. I also hate when people are like "You gotta hook me up with this program yo, teach me this shit bro, we can be a team bro, how much this cost bro, ima just torrent that shit bro"

I have fussed at my woman too many times for this. Anyway, yes, I produce very fast when somebody's watching because I feel pressure. I don't tweak one sound forever like I'd do alone.
But then there's collabs: If I'm sitting there with another producer
trying to work then nothing ever ever ever comes out.

My brother does it mostly when he comes over. Punched him one time for doing; well elbowed him in the chest.
My Girlfriend rarely comes in my music room unless she tells me she's going some place or asks what I want to eat.

Not like she cooks for me often. Only on weekends. I cook dinner myself during the week 'cause she's never home until late.

I've taught people like that, so yes. But it's still uncomfortable in some weird way. Like if explaining, you don't want to explain everything so quickly because something as simple as EQ can go over people's head, but then you don't want to explain too slowly and make it seem condescending or like they are a 3 year old.
I used to produce & record rappers and they got offended really easily. Once I asked this guy if he could write down his lyrics so I could work out a chorus/verse type thing and he got really mad. Turns out he couldn't write.

it's a good thing to produce in front of people. people get nervous because they dont want to make mistakes in front of people.
look at videos of some hip-hop producers making beats in rooms full of people EXPECTING a banger. thats some good motivation and gives producers the ego boost a lot of them need.
same with production duo's etc. you don't want to waste anyones time, so you work harder.

^ I can see the logic in that. I'm going to give a try more often.
