so i never understood this tea and crumpets or biscuits thing over there....i know in america people love their coffee. and fast food. but i feel like its different than the english and their tea.

I love coffee too and don't forget that most of the great Jazz Crumpeters were american.

I like tea, but I think I may like the Englishness of it even more than that. The regional variations on how people take their tea, while slight are quite charming also. Tearooms are fantastic aswell, Betty's tearoom in York is too good for words.

I don't drink water unless it's boiled and infused with Chinas finest grade of Tea.Nations where built on tea,a tradition which goes back to the early days of the British empire.Im not proud that we fucked over millions of people but without it id probably be drinking that nasty skank breath smelling Coffee nonsense.I can't relax after drinking coffee it makes me feel on the edge and i can't sleep.Tea on the other hand creates an aura of calm and tranquility.Plus evidence suggests that unlike Coffee it is incredibly good for your health.

Unfortunately as ive mentioned before most Brits havn't got a clue what a good cup of tea is.It disgusts me that a country that drinks so much tea is happy to purchase the Indian floor sweepings sold in supermarkets.

word. so i get the whole tradition thing and all, but it still is just so odd to me that the whole country like sets aside "tea time" with their crumpets and all. it is a nice idea. and cool people care enough about their history or whatever. or just the whole health aspect of it...but im still just taken back by the whole idea.

coffee is not supposed to relax you by the way. americans love this shit because its like crack, only legal and not as nasty as crack or meth or something. but they live off of this shit. i drink it from time to time, as well as tea when i want to sip something hot.

i just am trying to maybe compare america with GB and see whats up with maybe if there is something we do that would be equally defining for our country. if that makes sense....

it throws me off all the time when my friend from england bitches that he hasnt had "tea time" yet throughout his day. im like, "dude, just grab a cup of tea"....you guys actually sit down and like praise the shit while sipping it. im hyped that you get so hyped about it.

There is no designated tea time, we drink tea all day. When we're not drinking tea, we're in the pub.

I don't know what it is about this glorious island upon which I am inhabited but it's fair to say that as a nation we're predisposed to getting drunk and battered on a regular basis. Was speaking to an American about this the other day - we're a nation of caners apparently.
