Wanting to learn sound engineering? How do I Start.

I want to know everything about creating my OWN sounds when it comes to creating my music. I don't like to rely on downloading presets to use in my songs. I have NI Massive and I know maybe the really basic things about it but somewhat still lost. I also wanted to use kontact 4 or any VST program

Read through the Manual that comes with your synths. If you got the through unconventional means, then the manuals are probably somewhere you can easily download them.

Learn your synth, and mostly be creative.

Or do a music course, I've learned quite a bit about sampling in my first year of uni, some synthesis but I mainly taught myself through repetition.

Sound engineering is a lose term I guess when it comes to what your talking about. Sound design and synthesis what you really want to learn. The best way is to just do it imo and read some stuff on synthesis but it doesn't always relate practically to synths such as massive etc.

Maybe just learn massive and I'm sure by the time you've made some decent sounds you'll understand what the waveforms and different filters etc sound like and relate and manipulate each other.

youtube (tom cosm's page, soundonsound.com) for basic tutorials - basically to find out terminology and exactly what, for example, a compressor does and how it works.

experiment a lot to find "your sound."

more internet searches for classic techniques (gating, sidechaining, etc) - no point in rebuilding the wheel.

play around
because of that I can make decent wobbles in Massive and Synth1.

As mentioned before - from the description you gave, I think you want to learn about sound design and production.

Being a sound engineer usually implies working in a recording studio.
