Does anyone know of any good sample packs or movies/TV shows where there are nice clean (no background noise) build ups? Like those quickly played strings or atmospheric swells that are used to add tension normally at the end of an episode left on a cliff hanger or just before a cut to another scene.
I have IL Sakura which seems to be capable of making decent strings but I don't know how to program it to sound like its quickly bowing the strings backwards and forwards
Looking for a decent example on youtube to post as I fear my description may be too vague

Bit pricey for me but this gives me hope that there will be a cheaper but not as good one out there. When I get back to my flat I'm going to search the ad pages of all my Computer Musics to find one

Of course I can, I just don't understand all the non-standard synth stuff in it(I need to read the manual still). I'd rather get a sample but if you could tell me how to program fast bowed strings in Sakura that sound like they are being bowed back in forth I would appreciate that. Would I use 2 slightly different sakura patches maybe with different velocities?

Honestly turning down the attack achieves what i'm imagining you wanting.
If you could post a youtube clip, i'm sure i could understand the sound you're trying to get better, and in turn i can help you better.

This was used in The Shining.
Maybe have the amplitude LFO? Or sample a short bit and have it loop in a sampler.
Otherwise there's Seinfeld.
