Had a wee search and found an old 4x4 Garage thread, but thought I'd make a dedicated one for just Speed Garage from the 90s and after and other Darker stuff from the early 2000s, if anyone fancies contributing...

I remember buying all these records when they were originally released, they sound pretty dated today!

Is there a big market for this kind of stuff? I have hundreds of these tracks sitting in a basement in Folkestone.

Here's a topic from a little while back that has a bunch of mixes on this vibe:

Zed Bias gave away a load of free tunes over the last couple of christmases that included 4x4 mixes of 'Standard Hoodlum Issue' & 'Seven Day Kiss'. They're pretty sick.

Last Friday We went to Warehouse London to hear

Matt Jam Lamont
Todd Edwards
Wookie

It was too much- Ridims all night each DJ dropped rugged tunes - mainly 4/4 with just a touch of 2 Step (not a big fan of 2 step though there are some tunes)
Amongst the barrage New Horizons find the path (in your mind) got dropped as did Scrappy

Get over to Matt Jam Lamonts Soundcloud there are mixes for download including the radio1 essential mix from 97 – one of the best mixes on this style there has ever been its here..

http://soundcloud.com/matt-jam-lamont/t ... e-download

An example of the music at its best mixing up the US and UK tracks with the emphasis on the Groove- before the later hype and 2 step changed things..
