Heyguys/gals. This is sortve a weird question about reeses Im gonna try and explain it the best I can. I thought about posting this in the reese thread (which I'm currently reading) but this is more a theory question:

So, I basically understand how to make a reese bass but I know that there's so much processing and resampling after the initial sound so my question is WHEN do you do your reese creation? Do you write the tune and then plug in your reeses where you want them to be? Do you build your song around your reese? Do you make the reese in the synth and leave it while your making the tune and then go back while you're arranging?

I know there are a lot of different ways to go about doing it Im more just asking how each person does individually. It makes sense for me to make a basic reese while Im creating the tune and then go back and make it huge while im arranging/mixing but Im really interested to see how other people do it.

Make a tune, build to drop, make reese and chop in. Is my personal method.

I hardly ever start with basses/drops straight off, I basically work chronologically from the intro onwards.

I always make the base reese first, get a basic beat, resample, chop up, resample more, chop more possibly, etc. if you're going for a super distorted, gnarly, awesome, fat reese, then you're not going to be able to leave it in the synth... you just can't get those sounds by doing that - trust me.

also, i NEVER work on a track from the beginning on (chronologically)... this will make it so your drops almost always end up sounding anticlimactic. start with producing the HUGE first drop / chorus, then try working backwards from that for the rest of the song.

Interesting to see 2 completely opposite comments within minutes. You may be both right, in a way.

sorry you have to sample yourself but remember sample your at the highest possible quality so it sounds organic and smooth.maybe even use several microphones. the condition makes a huge difference too between hard sounds or soft mellow vibes

I spend a day making shit loads of reeses , resampling , filtering , chopping, etc. when i got a folder of reeses load them in to a smapler then start to get a vibes/ melody going .

Wow...Gotta say I was not expecting that! That reece is amazing, I've tried so many times (and failed) to get that sound, you have nailed it!

its really up to you

make a good reese. and then bounce out a a few 8 bar melodies.

then cut the shit out of the bounced copy of the reese and your sub bass at the same time... so the sub follows along and you don't have to do each layer individually. that's how i did the top one in my sig at least.
