never used it, but i think it's some kind of social media platform based entirely on photos, you can tell when a photo has been taken with the instragram app coz it's got that kinda polaroid low quality-ness to it.

I don't mind instagram. It's usually squirrels and bridges for me. And DRTY's cats

People get waay too angry at instagram. I've never used it but yeah sometimes you'll see an instagram picture when scrolling facebook or some blog and... yeah it's pictures and uhhh, they're only as annoying as the amount as attention you pay to them?

Oooh doesnt sound like something id like...im by no means a connosieur, but im a bit of a photography purist. Did a couple years of it at college, and loved it. Never used a digital camera though, have a proper vinyl-esque nostalgia for SLR cameras. Used to love hanging out in the darkroom, gradually printing pictures. Would take ages, but to gradually go from snapping the picture to print was a really involved process and made you really attached to the final image, especially if its one you were proud of. Have just got my first digital camera (I had one before but it broke before I got to use it!) and dont really know what to do with it! Confuses me a bit to be able to look at the images straight away. Changes the way you look at photography completely. For me before, it was a bit of a pot luck thing. You find something you think might work well, and take a couple of pictures from different angles. A few weeks down the road you might have forgotten taking it completely, but come across a gem you thought wasnt great at the time or something like that! Added a bit of surprise/pride to the pictures I thought...anyway i digressed...it just looked like a techno record...

good photography is about the content not the method.

regardless of sarcasm or not
i guess it's more about how u use it and what are you skills.. playing a guitar or a clarinette for that matter doesn't yet mean you're a musician unless you can master your instrument on a professional level. same goes for making music on a DAW, if you handle music theory and have good production skills so that you can make decent, musical tracks i'd say you're a musician.

whereas, and i say this without any hate towards instagram, i kinda get his point cause it makes every photo u take look all cool and vintage, which actual photography practicers strive to accomplish with SLR and lomography cameras

a better analogy would be djing with auto-sync
