Well, people kinda use 'the illuminati' as a blanket term for secret government/above government shit which goes on, so to say that no illuminati shit ever happens would be a bit naive IMO. I don't really follow conspiracy theories, but there is no doubt some shady shit done by shady organisations on a global level.

I don't really have an opinion on 2012 (if we die we die, if not, life as usual) but if anything is going to 'end' the world as we know it I'd guess it would be a giant solar flare. NASA research already says we're due some massive solar storms, and we already know they (solar flares, not NASA) have the power to seriously fuck things up for us. The last serious solar storm to affect earth was in 1900 or something and it took out a lot of telegraph systems all over the world. If we had a big solar storm hit tomorrow you can say bye bye to electricity, money as we know it, the internet, most forms of communication, emergency services, clean drinking water, etc, etc, etc. Society would collapse until (if we can) get shit back on track after the mass worldwide rioting and hysteria.

I don't really have an opinion but I think most of us will still be alive for Christmas.
