What Hardware (other than computer and midi keyboard)?

What studio hardware would you recommend? (other than the obvious things)
My setup so far is: iMac, Logic, Ableton, Traktor, Axiom Pro 49, 2x 1210's and an Allen & Heath Mixer.....it's probably plenty, has taken me years to get this far but am wondering if it's worth getting something like a hardware compressor, mixing desk, decent microphone, MPC, vocoder, and still hoping to find a TB303 in a car boot sale for £10 one day.
I guess it's all personnal preferance but what are your must-have hardware recommendations?

Sounds like you've got everything you need. Maybe invest in a hardware synth and/or top end VST instrument if you want something a bit different.
Depends on where you want to go with your sound as to what to recommend...there are a shit ton of threads like this where people ask for gear recommendations, have a gander through some of them.

Nice one, cheers man. I had a quick look but should have searched better- will have a check through now.
Suppose it's a bit of a stupid question anyway as it all depends on what sounds people want to focus on making.

It's not stupid, but it is a bit broad...like you wouldn't just ask someone what car to buy without first saying what you wanted to use the car for?

Iv just brought an emu e5000 ultra sampler off ebay,
I seriously can't wait till it arrives at my house because iv never used any outboard gear before

hardware compressors are amazing... but really, the price kinda makes it pointless unless you're a mastering engineer.
new maschine looks pro, i'd rather have it than a mpc.
vocodex is on sale right now for $45 from image-line's website.
for a mic, just grab a shure sm58 - pretty much what every pro uses in their house. or a zoom h series field recorder, same thing basically, but portable.
if ya want a new hardware synth, look into an access virus.

I second the sm58. They're affordable and quality. I got one to play gigs.

All a pricey game, I'm just gonna get the sm58 and stick with software for now with an eye on second-hand places for hardware synths. A sub would be good- although I'm not too sure my neighbours would agree!

sm58 is a good dynamic mic, but for recording vocals in a studio you might get better results with a nice condenser mic - you'd need a desk with phantom power to drive it though.

This. You could get an electret.
Condenser makes for a better allround mic.
At home I use a stereo field recorder though.
