Wow filter sucks, forget about it. It's so much better to use normal EQ

I think I'm going to pick up the waves ones, just because the price is so good.

Never have really been interested in the renaissance one though; it's just a compressor with less control..

If Icicle uses it, it has to be good.

I am currently in the process of transferring hundreds of dollars to Sugarbytes, in the hope that
I can obtain that Wow filter.

I think a lot of people have misconceptions about most of Waves plugins. About half of their stuff are emulations of famous analog gear that colored sounds in certain ways or had limitations (less control). Unless you want/like that for some reason, wtf would you buy it "just because it's waves"

Honestly, Kramer Master Tape for 79 dollars I'd consider...I use it on every project. It's an "instant make shit sound old and crunchy" VST...can get some interesting compression with it and it's an awesome sounding old school delay.

Get WOW, Bandreject is nice for notching, 12db LP filter is smooth and the overdrive knob is amazing, especially on drums.

I have waves and I find myself using the API's the L1, the JJP artist series stuff can sound great, Hcomp is cool, Hdelay, and SSL Strips can be handy from time to time. It also comes with waves tune, which is basically the exact same thing as melodyne. Very handy. All in all though that is only about 1/20 of the bundle, but those plugs in specific are cool !

Slate Digital has VTM on sale for 149 again and if you already own a product from them you can get a 50 dollar voucher toward VTM making it only 99. I paid 199 for VCC a while back and won't mix w/o it now...then kicked myself for not waiting to see what the xmas/holiday deals would be...

Slate Digital is fucking gold...everything is subtle...but when you A/B there is a "glue" to the mix you cannot deny. I'm very happy to be adding VTM into my signal chain.

Also, I think they are still running the the VTM/VCC for 249 deal.

Also, that Harrison Mixbus seems interesting/tempting...anyone have experience with it? For 40 dollars it's tempting to just buy it and check it out...though it seems to be missing a few basic things on windows.

Do these channel strips like the SSL or Neve clones really modify your sound even if everything is bypassed?

I understand but dont understand your question. If you turn off the channel strip plug in then no. But if its active on the channeltan yes. VCC is extremely subtle. If you are looking for a saturation fx and not a mixing tool I recommend waves nls
