Plug-Ins

big ups to everyone here. This place is mad. So much info and tunes, its rad. I'll do my best to contribute.

i just started learning to make electronic music, and i'm aiming to put some dub tracks together just to learn the ropes. I have presonus studio one FREE, and i've been just loading fx into it and then chopping them up to find my drums, synths, etc.
This so hard, i want to make bass and my own sounds and fx, i'm not sure which are good plug-ins to start with that are free. Or if thats gonna be a hindrance to my production, could someone let me know?
What i'm looking for is just some guidance, a bloody arrow pointing which way is north, anything. i'm learning the basics right now. I dont have any money, so buying something like ableton or anything native is really not an option. Im on a PC.
not trying to be an annoying noob, but after scouring the forum and reading about every free synth plug-in i find, and then practically injecting my brain with what i read in the 'how to make dubstep' thread, i'm sorta posting this out of desperation.
many thanks!

Thank you so much! thats awesome i'm about about to dive, after i finish learning about Parametric EQ. Who came up with all the numbers? where does 'kHz' come from, where did 'dB's come from?
My mind is childlike, and spongey...

Might wanna check this out http://www.reaper.fm/ as an alternative to presonus. Unlimited fully functional trial so you wont have to buy it until you can afford it and even then its dirt cheap anyway.
