Tunes like these

2008-2009 hessle/hotflush/applepips etc. dubstep
Seeing as dubstep has split (imo) into dungeon/halfstep, bro/tearout and the stuff dusk & blackdown is pushing and the people who made these mostly play house or techno now, I was wondering if anyone still makes stuff like this. It all seems a bit forgotten to me.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread, love these type of tunes. Some newer stuff from my favourites:

Also Syknro from 08-09 has these kind of rhythms too.

Blawan had some of the best drums going, of all the people I didn't expect to go 4x4 it would've been him. What a shame.

Martyn - Suburbia is one of my all time favourites.

That martyn record is a glaring omission from my collection.

Safe for all the recommendations.

Yeah, Iddy has incredible drums. Beneath has similarly brilliant drums imo.

Wow. Yeah was a change indeed when they came out. Brostep was on the up and if I remember right suburbia was a proper summer tune. Was very different from the direction a lot of releases were taking, but the scene musically was still really healthy and diverse.

Blawan used to be my favourite producer almost solely because of those drums, 4/4 really killed his uniqueness imo.

Always preferred the flip on this one

^ lol its in the first post... such a tune such a release anyway

yeah well i miss this too. it's like the garage revival i guess, before the new thing was to go all out 4x4. my most cherished records are from this era. also the first ones i got my hands on when i started collecting dubstep/bass

joy orbison had so many brilliant tunes for example before he went the house route.
