We Buy Gold returns to The Alibi for its first party of 2013. And, once again, we’ve gone global - searching near and far to bring you more of the newest and most exciting acts worldwide in 160bpm bass music for the UK capital.

Introducing…

FRACTURE

Starting out with a release in 2000 on Danny Breaks’ (now infamous) Jungle label Droppin’ Science London’s Fracture has been responsible for sculpting a high speed, futuristic and constantly evolving sound rooted in the more cosmic zones of Drum n Bass and UK underground music. Taking inspiration from Phillip D Kick (aka Om Unit’s) 2011 Footwork Jungle experiments, in early 2012 Fracture & Neptune did a remix of one of their label (Astrophonica)’s biggest tracks to date, that really set the shape of things to come – “The Limit VIP.” With its darkside junglist synth blasts and twisted speed juke beats, the dubplate could be heard destroying dancefloors right up until its May release via support from the likes of dBridge, Daedelus and Mark Pritchard (aka Africa Hitech). This was followed in Summer by the ultra anthemic “Get Busy” – another darkside footwork jungle delight collab with mysterious label mate Dawn Day Night. Recent sets on Rinse, at Plastic People and elsewhere across the country have confirmed that this mutant Chicago influence is here to stay. We’re very excited to hear what the man like Fracture has in store for us on the night.

BOI-A-GUTZ (aka GREMINO)

*World exclusive first performance*

Following a couple of ultra low-key mixes exclusive to We Buy Gold the mysterious Boi-A-Gutz was finally revealed to the world in 2013 to be the 160bpm alias for Finland’s first man in Grime – Gremino. Combining the speed and frantic beats of Chicago’s Juke and Footwork tracks with belting acid basslines and a Detroit influenced coldness and bounce, the nearly all unreleased material to have surfaced so far from the Boi-A-Gutz camp brings with it a robotic futurism and techno facelessness previously only hinted towards with the producer’s more house-y releases, one with the anonymous track titles (#1, #2, #3, “dj tool” etc). Championing tracks from other international underground producers on a similar tip in his mixes (Sidney Looper, Warlock) you can definitely expect something to make you move alongside a healthy dose of future-shock on the night.

WE BUY GOLD DJS

For support this time it’s back to the base, as We Buy Gold residents the Das Boot boys and Jambie grace the decks to juke in the gaps. For those that have come early and stayed until late before, you’ll know to expect nothing other than upfront, unreleased and exclusive juke, footwork, booty and everything in between tracks from London to Chicago, Moscow, Paris, Texas and beyond.
