I've been checking this place out and am interest a bit. I'm just wondering if anyone else on here has set up a band camp and made any money through it?

I've looked at it, and seen a lot of unsigned people using it.

Overall it looks good, but I have this nagging feeling that everytime I see a bandcamp link half the time it's going to be shit because there's only the artist themselves acting as quality control, in reality a lot of good people use it but so do people who aren't so good.

I've always wondered if people make any viable money from it.

I made 1$ off downloads from donations!
My paypal isn't set up..so it gave them back the change lol
ANyway, point being! It's a decent place to sell and distribute your music!
You just need to have a steady stream of people wanting your tunes or no one will ever find it

Okay, I've set one up with one of my more melodic tracks, gonna see how it goes. It's one of the one's that I really like and gets good reception but labels are more interested in darker more twisted stuff so will have to see what happens. Fingers crossed it works out well! :D

there's labels for pretty much every style around you know.

i feel like putting something on bandcamp would be good at making something look professional and whatever but i doubt many people make any money off it.

It would be incremental though...I know of producers who will sell a few copies of each of their back catalogue whenever they put new stuff up.

this,I sell a few tracks on bandcamp, personally I think it is the future you can sell tracks for a lot cheaper, some people pay more than the asking price which is nice of them
