Hey forum,
Just finished a track called "The Storm." Please lend your ear and give me some good feedback on how I can improve the song and I will do my best to critique your song as well.

Thanks!

Don't take this the wrong way at all but the mix needs some serious work from my viewpoint. The snare is way to far in the background and lacks some serious top end.The kick gets a bit lost here and there to so that needs a bit of work.
I mean the arrangement is really really good and the sound design is fantastic just needs some serious work in the mix department. Its hard to put my finger on it but i think for me there is just too much going on in the highs so it sounds a bit cloudy if you get me.Could be my phones but pretty sure the mix could do with a little work.
You could sort of tone down any mud inducing plugs that you have or even just eq a bit better, without sitting infront of the mix its a bit hard to really point it out but there is definitely work to be done.

Thanks for the feedback! Listening to it now it sounds like the lead sounds need to get turned down slightly and the kick and snare need more punch. I thought about sidechaining the kit but I skipped it for some reason.
Feedback on Rubadub: I really enjoyed the track, especially the snare with the light delay. My only suggestion would be to add more of a melody in the beginning section. Keep up the great work.

See you don't always need to reach for the sidechain, just leave room in the frequency range and layer.Need more punch use a punchier kick.If theres room it will cut through the mix fine. Now your snare i would definitely layer because it is so in th background of the mix its hardly present but yeah cheers for the feedback on rubadub i will bear it in mind!

I like the melodic intro a lot, really catchy stuff. I sort of agree on the mix, the highs are a little invasive, and I don't get too much of the lows on my headphones. Piano is really creative though, well done on that end. My only other qualm are the drums; the snare and kick are a little corny, if that makes sense. I like the vibes of the track though, reminds me of a video game sort of!

Thanks for the feedback OnlyBoots! I will definitely take the lows down on the next mixdown. I have to find some new drum samples, I've been using those for a year or two now.
Feedback on Flapnis: Impressive tune, and a hell of a lot of plays on soundcloud! Congrats on that. Only critique would be that you might want to modify some of the piano lines at the end of every 16 measures or something, just to keep it switched up.
