Anyone know how many releases they had? I know J Da Flex was behind some of them tunes.
Yeah, that's right. Think J started the label actually. Ride It Riddims was before this I think.gaff wrote:wasnt he somthin to do with southwest records>?
I got one of these under the idea it was one of El-b's pseudonyms (gotta love the e-bay lying as sales tactic). It's kinda simplistic but some really nice grooves.Blackdown wrote:Nah, Ride it Riddims were some other guys, kinda got involved in the early days a bit with Ammunition but didn't follow it through.

Production wasn't all that, esp compared to Zed or El-B at the time.

I always thought so. I only have the first 2, but...vibezin wrote:wasn't it Brotherhood behind these ones?
...if this is the Brotherhood tune of the same name that J Da Flex used to play on his 1xtra shows I'd kill anybody for it! I've been hoping for a release for years.DjRUM wrote:Tune called Fiya I think...
I have Vol.3 and it's three Brotherhood tracks.David_M wrote:I always thought so. I only have the first 2, but...vibezin wrote:wasn't it Brotherhood behind these ones?
I don't know which tune that is but there's a brotherhood tune with the lyric "don't know what to do.... don't know what to say" with the most amazing wubbling bassline and some kind of pitched down(?) strings. Utterly amazing tune but I can't find it anywhere, UV played it a bit on subfm. Any ideas? I need this tune more than any other.David_M wrote:...if this is the Brotherhood tune of the same name that J Da Flex used to play on his 1xtra shows I'd kill anybody for it! Ok, now I'm gonna spend what's left of my life searching for it all around the web... sucks not to live in the UK sometimes...
I finally gota copy of this! Amazing release.David_M wrote:^^ The tune you're talking about is the Brotherhood dub mix of KCA's "Spirit", included on the first release of their label Virtuoso Dubs. Wicked release, there's an El-B remix on the flip which is also essential. I'm not sure where you can find it, but probably eBay or a second hand shop is your best bet
