Hello all, i've been trying to get that heavy Xkore style bass but i can't seem to get it, there is some trick after you set the OSC and filters, FX, mod, etc in Massive that give it that heavy sound, someone told me the trick is in the "Voice osc", "Feedback", and "Modulation OSC" do you think you guys could help me out and show me what you got or how i could get the sound? something like his remix another day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu2Um5n-9O0 or this new remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lzVUvJ ... h5ZZa2bSDg the bassline is freaking amazing!

I did and i copied it but he doesn't show what he does with like voicing and stuff, so im kinda stuck on their

There's just like three or four things you can adjust that are related to voicing...

tried it before still didnt work, its not just voicing tho, it's something els

...care to explain what the something else is so we can spoonfeed you settings?

here is what i have so far, the bass at the drop is the one i want to fix up

Yeah, that's definitely not a problem with the voices. Add some stereo spread and tweak FX / layer the bass sound with something else. Your patch sounds generic if you're referring to the first one after the drop, while the original (first time I heard this) seems to have a more complex timbre; actually it might just be that the patch is layered with the plucky kind of bass you hear a couple seconds after, and that clashing of frequencies is what gives the patch that timbre after the drop. Or just layer some noise / industrial samples on top and see how that goes.

thank you for the tips! i'm mainly trying to just get that heavy sound like he has so i can turn it into something new because in his live stream he mostly works with performers to get the different sounds and shapes but i never saw him layer the bass, they were just really heavy hitting on the spot, the only other guy i know who came close was this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO0kydYQHLo and that's with only 1 plug in but he only shows a little bit of the patch

the thing is the patch it near enough sounds like xkores song hello, i tried it back when xkore put it up. just distort and EQ?
somewhere in the video i remember him adding soundgoodizer, EQ and compression to it.

I browsed through the video but it was horrible quality and I couldnt find any bit that really showed the patch. Is there a preset somewhere? Or where in the video does he show off his patch?

skip to like 24 mins and you'll see where he starts bringing out patches, make sure you are watching the video called "Chicken Meals"

dont want to be a dick but why go through all the trouble trying to duplicate some ones sound, as these people help you be un original no offense. just get a a full grasp on massive and everything will be cake, and stop being lazy and expirement

The reason i wanted to know was because i really like his style of bass so i wanted to learn it and than recreate it to something new, see ya what i mean? it's good to learn how other people make their sounds so you can have your own tips and tricks to make new sounds from what you learned, but i already found out the secret, it was modulating the envelops and the right points to get that sharp heavy sound. thank you
