Hey all,

I created this supersaw in massive the other day which I'm pretty happy with the only problem is when I try to throw a lfo to make it wobble it sounds like garbage. Ive been trying to go for this sound at the 1.25 mark.

I know they are layering a sub and bass with that supersaw buy I'm pretty sure everything is being modulated simultaneously. Or are those stabs? Any help would be appreciated on how to make that choppy supersaw sound.

Sounds like they've been gated imo. Use something that can gate your signal (tbh you could use a square wave LFO), play stabbed notes (sounds like what they've done because there's some slight decay on the sound as the stabs hit), or manually automate the volume to duck to zero as you want, or bounce to audio and chop it manually - lot's of alternatives.

In massive put a square wave lfo in the master volume slot and then set to different rates until you get what you want.Mthrfnk is spot on,it is just a gated signal and the easiest way to achive that sound in massive is what i said above.

Thanks for the quick responses! I have tried using a square wave and then syncing it to the speed I desire but still sounds horrible. Can you explain further about gating the sound, and hadn't thought about manually automating the volume!

It's quite simple, you're turning the synth on and off effectively - and to make it sound good you do it in a syncopated manner consistent with the rest of the elements around it. I provided 3/4 methods you could use, try them all and see what you like - if you don't get the outcome you desire straight away, there's no quick fix - keep trying

where are you placing the lfo within massive?
Look at the top where the amp module is you will see a blue 4,this is the envelope for the adsr of the sound.Pop your lfo in the little square underneath and then you will have a gated sound.
