Is there a way to use the built-in sounds from the keyboard while using the piano roll/midi clips?
I also can't get any sound coming through the laptop/speakers I have with the built-in sounds..I can only use it as a midi keyboard so far...to control massive etc.
My connection is.... Laptop(USB1) > M-Audio FastTrack > KRK Monitors__________&_________Laptop(USB2) > Microkorg XL...is there something wrong?

From what i can read, you have it hooked up and working properly.
This is a standalone synth with midi control via USB.
Your options are:
1. Use the Korg kayboard as a MIDI keyboard to control massive or other synths inside your DAW (NO AUDIO FROM DEVICE).
2. Use the Korg as a standalone synth and patch its outputs into your audio interface and record real time samples into the DAW (AUDIO FROM DEVICE MUST BE PATCHED TO INPUTS ON AUDIO INTERFACE + MONITORING WILL HAVE TO BE SETUP FOR REAL TIME AS WELL).
3. Use the Korg as BOTH a MIDI keyboard (USB) and standalone synth (AUDIO OUTPUTS).
I THINK you wanted to use your DAW to feed notes/paramters into the KORG and then use the KORG as a synth (kind of like a soft synth) all throught he USB. THIS WILL NOT WORK (from what i understand). You could end getting that scenario to work but its out of the basic MIDI routing knowledge i have so i cant explain that to you. I imagine you could probalby send MIDI data to the Keyboard (USB) and then have that playing back in realtime into the DAW (USING AUDIO OUTPUTS FROM THE KORG FEED BACK INTO THE AUDIO INTERFACE/DAW). Again you will have to deal with some latency and real time monitoring issues.
I suggest you just sample the thing whenever possible (actually recording lines in and saving them as AUDIO instead of MIDI) and then i would use the Korg as a midi keyboard when you are not directly sampling from it.
I hope this post helps, i understand its probably still confusing lol

				RTFM
But seriously, ofcourse there is no sound, you don't have the outputs connected

Audio outputs into line in of your interface. In your daw create a audio track and select the corresponding inputs. Enable monitoring and off you go.
