So gonna be away from my chick for 8 months while she finishes schooling and I relocate. Seeing each other once a month/six weeks for a few days. Shits great then gets ruthless. Been fighting a lot, we're both stubborn so we both go for the throat and are pretty fucking mean.


She wants to try just going out and fucking around for a bit. She insists she wouldnt fuck anyone.... I've informed her that if I'm in the position where I'm fucking around with the girl, it's only good manners to seal the deal.

I told her she just needs to tough it the fuck out but if she's down and can handle it I'm all about it.


Anyone of you dealt with this before? Confused on how to approach it

Had a very similar situation. My fiancee (at the time girlfriend) was stuck in Edmonton while I moved to Calgary for school (about a 3 hour drive). That lasted about 1 year, then she moved to Toronto (24 hour drive/4 hour flight) for the next two years which was pretty brutal. However, in May I'll be joining her in the Toronto area, so it all worked out in the end!

We both went into it with an open mind; we knew it'd either work or it wouldn't. She was clear that her boundary would be me sleeping around (which I've managed to avoid). I'm not 100% sure how it was on her end, but I was so busy with school/internship that I didn't have much time to "miss her," although when I was able to slow school for a bit it was a bit lonely.

I've never tried an open relationship; to be honest if I were in a long distance and started something up with another girl or two I'd probably be breaking off the long distance one pretty quick. For myself it wasn't really the sex I missed, it was more the having someone to listen to me or just be there when internship got really shitty. So if I were in a position to all of a sudden have someone who fulfilled that role pretty well (and got me off to boot!) then I'd find it really hard to keep the long distance one going.

But that's just me, I'm sure there's someone who's made a long distance/open relationship work!

If you cant go 8 months without then i'd say its not that great a relationship

what does being able to see other people do for the strength of the relationship?

if it's just to distract you from your frustrations i'd say the best it's doing is masking problems that are there anyway, and probably making a ton more down the road.

couples can get through rough times, and long distance is especially rough, but i doubt this is gonna be a solution.

one of those epic nights of fighting and being the class a prick I am, if someone brings it out in me I am death personified

so she knows id never honestly sign off on this shit but i think shes trying to prove a point of some sort. I'm not giving an inch all night and just shutting this shit the fuck down. Eventually we get to the point where she says she just needs to see me or something to that effect so I go to buy a ticket. Pricey but whatever if itll save the relationship lets rock. Get shit together, about to pay, and this dumb chick starts chatting shit again. So I shut the whole thing down. Fuck you not coming up go fuck yourself

she gets brave and starts talking her normal shit, and honestly I am very very very rarely mean to girls, but what the fuck did she expect? Saying I'm a dumbass, stupid, saying I'm lying about some shit. So I go the fuck off and hit every painful branch related to her on the way down. At this point I'm smashed as shit and just breathing fire.

She went to bed crying about 30 mins ago. At this point I could take it or leave it. I'm young, got a job, and disease free. In the USA i'm in the top 5% based on that alone. Don't need to be fuckin around with this dumbshit
