Am I the only one sitting for hours trying to figure out the rhythm for a lead?
This is basically the only "hard" thing for me when I'm making a track.

Start smashing keys on your keyboard, (if you have one.) Until you get a good sound going...

Lol funny thing is it usually works!! Don't get stuck on it though, personally if I get stuck I'll either save and quit, trash te project, or record a lil something and move on. Odds are when you listen to it later you'll have another idea for the lead and trash your original idea or use the original for a breakfown or bridge or something.
Don't let your lack of ideas interfere with ypur crearivityscs

Write the lead first and build everything else around it. It is the "lead" after all ;p I had trouble coming up with a melody and chord progression that really worked together.

90% of my music, unless it's a remix, and I have midi, was from just smashing keys on my mpk mini... Idk what I would do without it ^_^

Why dont you find out what key signature your song/lead is then, then find out the chord available in the sequence (Normally chord I-IV-V have a good resolution) . Rhythm wise have you tried stabs on beat 2 and 4 of a bar?

i think the best thing to do when you are lost is to lay down a basic tonic/domininant tonic/subdominant phrase and just slowly add little embellishments in between and try just slowly make it more complex, play with note lengths, arpeggios and stuff and you will get something going dont overthink it
