I have heard that bass in more tunes by Datsik/Excision than I can count. I've made a bass in Massive similar to that, but I can't exactly remember how. To me, it sounds like it has the disto wt in it, but I'm a n00b on Massive WT. :h:

Automate the phase filter

really short delays are pretty much the key to this type of metallic/robot sound. (obviously its not the only way)

D-Jahsta uses a Chaos Pad to filter his basses. Not sure what he does with it but I know he uses one to add the metalic sound. Probably some sort of a series of delay/chorus/comb. It is probably possible to achieve a similar effect with vst's, but this is how he does it.

Same goes for myself. I wish there was just a good tutorial for this type of sound.

I achieved a similar sound by making a wobble with lots of upper harmonics, picking an LFO rate, lets say 1/4. and then using sugar bytes WOW vowel filter in LFO mode at half of the rate you are on in massive. so say 1/2. mess around with that and you should find something similar. :W:

(i also used Effectrix reverse and tonal delay modules as well)

1. À lopass wobble?
2. Did you distort it and with what plugin/what settings?

I used a Scream Wobble with 5LFO modulating the cutoff all the way, scream at about 10:00, and the resonance halfway. I also modulated the phase and ringmod on OSC 2, a phaser dry/wet, and the intensity on all OSC to give it some movement before the FX come in.

Effectrix and WOW basically are what make this sound work for me. the massive patch doesn't matter as much as the effects do. just remember to keep the WOW vowel LFO at a low rate like 1/1 - 1/4.

How much did you modulate the phaser? When i do it, i get mixed results becasuse tiny adjustments make it sound really good or trash.... I tried the wow and effectrix idea and got this wired low end sound and was ringing form the tonal delay. I messed with the paramenters and i got some bad results so i slapped a simple delay instead. Battle of tiny adjustments if you ask me.. :corncry:

It really is a battle of small adjustments. i have the phaser dry wet modulated from about 7:00 up. Rate at 11:00, and feedback at 7, and depth at 12.

Try using the regular delay inside Effectrix instead of the tonal delay. i found that the tonal delay gives it too much "squeek". put the delay at 1/128 and also keep a simple delay at 1.00ms.

hope this helps! :D

Dude you are the fucking MAN! Im not sure if it was little things or switching to the other delay but i got some funky sounds! Ill mess around a bit more and upload a soundcloud clip soon! This is Amazing!!! :W: :corndance: :h:  :corntard: :x

Edit* Also help me get that getter and p0gman sound! Think i got everything in place. Now i need to resample and add couple wow filters and do some quick automation and alls sick! Cant thank you enough!

Alright im going to try this bass i made just now in massive. Going to resample it to see if i can get a nice hollow sound. Ill do what you said and not add too much in one fx chain. I just have a camelphat and a fatter. If you want i could send you the patch for all the help you given me :W: Its pretty nice sound out of massive.
