Gonna have a proper read of this later, just skimmed through it but I think this is gonna be inevitable for all 'creative' social media sites from now on, when there is a sort of competition/popularity element to it. Simple solutions are to remove play-counts, make comments private and stop the artist endorsements on the main page then it's a level playing field to 'showcase' your stuff and allow you to promote it externally.

It's sad that people would go to such lengths over such a tiny sip of success.
........it doesn't sound like Louie needed to go to any great lengths, he just paid $100 for stealth advertising, I think he is vindicated in that it sounds like it's paid off in terms of sales.
If mugs want to follow people because others seem to and buy their mediocre music then more fool them.

I'm going to do whats in the OP but with a fake name uploading old tunes to see how far I can get it.
I wont be buying followers or plays though, just using social engineering methods I've already discovered.
