Maschine...useless?

I have a Maschine...should I just sell this thing? What could I possibly use it for? I already have Ableton 9, a Launchpad, a Midifighter...
Does anyone use a Maschine in their production setup? I can't find any reason to have it at all.
I don't plan on doing "live" performances or recording live from the pads...I could just use my mouse for that.

Sell it and buy an MPK61.
Profit.

it's pretty much just a different platform to tap out beats. If you already have the idea in your head, it's useless, but for inspiration and a new "take" on things it's interesting to have.

Basically just useful for loading 16 different sounds and seeing what goes good together? Couldn't I just do the same thing with my Launchpad?

It's not that Maschine is useless, you just bought a bunch of somewhat redundant equipment. But honestly if you think Maschine is useless you haven't explored it enough. The work flow is fast and inspiring. I've never used Live and a Launch Pad, the pre-mapped stuff might make that combo similar to Maschine. Lately I've been doing a lot of sampling and doing almost everything in Maschine for building 16 bar parts of tunes then bouncing and chopping. I love it.

I'd sell both and get an MPK61 for the 4x4 grid of pads. Then do the pad mod so they're more sensitive. Then spend the extra loot on other essential gear. You have nice monitors and an interface yet? You're pretty much set for control surfaces, start investing in other areas. Get a zoom h4n or something to record sound effects. You have nice headphones yet? Just assess where you're lacking and figure out what would improve your production the most.
Or just mail it to me
Pretty sure the launchpad isn't the same as a drum pad controller. It doesn't output velocity, only triggers, correct?

Why did you buy a MIDI Fighter?
Shit has always appeared to be an overpriced gimmick to me. For the less money you could be buying a proper drum pad controller like a padkontrol or something.

it sounds like you were pretty useless when spending your money on the correct audio gear. IMO keep the maschine, sell the MPk and just get a cheaper keyboard with some faders since the maschine doesnt have any faders. i like the novation remote SL keyboards. i have a 25 key and its an awesome little thing. a bit of a pain to get it all setup but once you do its fiya. btw the MPK pads are no way shape or form as nice or responsive as the maschines even with the mod, and mpk doesn't have even close to all of the possibilities as the maschine, its a total different beast.
@ hasez - exactly what i was thinking.

+1 for both of you EatBass and Hasezwei
(and yea, Midifighters look pretty gimicky, it's just a midi controller with arcade buttons if I'm not mistaken)
Re-reading the OP is making me feel rage-y again...if you can just do shit with your mouse OP why the fuck do you own a launchpad, a midifighter or a launchpad?
Do you know what to do with you dick or do you need help with that too?

I use my MIDI Fighter when I'm mixing. I got a DJM-900 running Traktor and I'm going to custom map my MIDI Fighter for effects. I also have a Kontrol X1 and I'm about to get two CDJ-2000 Nexus. My ultimate setup.

Lmfao...I guess I haven't explored the Maschine enough yet. I messed around with it for a couple months but getting the fucking thing to load custom Massive presets is the biggest pain in the ass. The video that was just posted completely changed my mind though.
Not selling it anymore..

Yes only triggers. I have two Yamaha HS-80M monitors...a Focusrite Scarlet 2i4 interface..I just built a 2000+ dollar computer for production only. My Omnirax Presto 4 desk came in today so I'm setting that up. Going to be running dual 27" inch monitors. I haven't decided on headphones yet...I can't figure out which would be the best pick. I pretty much went balls deep with doing this for the rest of my life.

jesus christ dude, I hope you got a deal on that desk. Those things are fucking expensive (and don't make or process sound!) WTF is in your computer for 2,000?
Also, yes...you didn't explore Maschine enough. I don't really mess around with VSTs in mine to be honest, I just bounce things to audio and load them onto the pads.
How long have you been doing this that you are dumping thousands into a home studio?

lol, well I can see you are certainly stoked. FYI though...we've been raving in the states long before dubstep exploded. We've been proper raving since at least 1990 (the US that is).

Nope bought it brand new...got it for 550. My computer is basically a gaming performance rig.
I haven't been doing this long (NOWHERE near as long as you guys)...but I have a very musical and computer-esque background. I played the violin from ages 4-13 and the guitar somewhere in there. I had Reason cracked when it first came out. I'm about to be 21, so I was messing around on Reason when I was like 10 years old. (i was like im 10 and wat is this). I taught myself how to program at 9 from reading source code and expanded my languages to C++, C, HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, Java, Javascript. I've been listening to techno music (I dont call that fucking shit EDM I hate the term) and spent a very long time on MySpace music about 8 years ago searching through EVERY genre of techno music finding a "particular" sound and music I had in my head due to my crazy imagination. I ended up with hardstyle and hardcore because dubstep wasn't even invented yet (but in my head it was) that I know. I gave up the search, then one day in highschool dubstep sprang onto the scene and I knew I had just fucking found what I had been searching for my whole life. Sounds gay as fuck but I literally breathe dubstep. I saw Blade when it first came out and when I saw the opening with the underground rave I knew I wanted to do "that". I was obsessed with subwoofers before I even heard one or had a car to have one installed. I remember watching Tiesto In Concert when Youtube was still a baby website and I KNEW I could see myself doing that but I thought it was just a pipe dream.
I started going to raves and events not too long ago (although I have been doing all this shit before it blew up in the US) and the idea of me doing this again just kept fucking bugging me and bugging me and BUGGIN me to the point where I kept thinking "what if". So I bought a Pioneer DDJ-T1 and fell in love. But I wanted more. Every day straight up thinking what if I won the lottery? I could buy the most ridiculous studio and NEVER leave. What if I just stumbled upon a bunch of money to get me every tool I needed to make this dream come true. Then a couple months ago (not going to state who it is) someone comes to me with over 30,000 dollars STRAIGHT cash and says "Buy everything you need".
I used to dream of getting with the hottest girls in my town and months later they would hit ME up and be on MY dick. Shit, I fucking dreamt the Megamillions 350 million dollar jackpot numbers two years ago but didn't play the numbers and lost out on all that money. The universe literally HANDS me whatever I want in life and I fucking know it, and it fucking knows it. Whenever I think about something so much it falls right into my damn lap.
You will see me on stage and I won't stop until I see a crowd of 70,000+ people in front of me enjoying my music. You ever get that feeling that you just know something is right? It feels like my fucking destiny.
edit: Shit I just got tears of joy re-reading that.
wow dude i think you should lay off the PCP. you seem extremely delusional or at the very least conceited and narcissistic.
you seem to talk a big game for someone who can't even take the time to learn and appreciate their tools before deeming them "useless".
