i was sat next to a dude today in a computer cluster who had just typed "funny memes" into google images and went through absolutely hundreds of them, not laughing once.

Yep. Fuck memes. There's entire conversations online, hell even offline, where people spout random memes and laugh like hell, but just ask them what's funny. They won't know.

Watching people do that is like watching someone watch Big Bang Theory.

you probably need to know where the yo dawg meme comes from - It comes from Xzibit presenting pimp my ride where they would put stupid, impactical accessories in people's cars, e.g. "Yo dawg I heard you like skateboarding so we put a half pipe in your trunk" (actually happened), that sort of thing. People have taken this theme and made the "Yo Dog" meme, it's pretty self explanatory;

We should not have been laughing or attempting to eat during the altercation...
