New film The Purge looks at the idea that, to preserve prosperity and keep crime at an all time low, the government creates an annual 12-hour period from the evening of June 7 to the morning of June 8 in which all criminal activity, including murder, becomes legal. During this time, police and hospitals suspend all assistance services and execute citizens who refuse to participate.


If this scenario was real, what would you do during those 12hrs?

cook up as much meth or other lucrative drug as humanly possible in those 12 hours and sell it to a pre-arranged purchaser by the end

they could just murder you rather than pay for it, or you could murder them and get the money and keep the drugs.

I'd probably rob my work and try to keep out of people's way, or arrange to be in a gang with some of my army/ex army friends cos I reckon there would be a lot of fighting and murdering.

Wait a sec Wub, the police execute you for NOT doing crimes? So you actually can't just hide in your closet with a gun and pray for the best?

In any case, I'd probably buy some presumably easily available, cheap E and loot some electronics. Just hope that most people won't be crazy enough to murder. I think people would probably band together in tribes/mobs though, for survival.
