I know I say this in every Daily Mail thread, but COPY/PASTE their articles - don't post links. The only reason they're profitable is because their intentionally sensationalist shit goes viral... they still get their money even if you're visiting to disagree with them.

I used to write, things got a bit difficult when the police were offering money (£500) for information for anyone on "the list" in London. i dont give a fuck about graffiti or care wether he gets punished or not, but i swear the argument 'its expressive & its art' is shit when its on someone elses property

i literally cant think of any logical way you can justify graffin on something you dont own

but for the people who try argue against it being a crime... i see no logic

if you get caught, wounded - it is vandalism if you dont have permission and have just defaced someones property

a lot of graffiti is shit. most tags are utter shit and just make the area look dirty, unkept and downtrodden which never does anything positive for the area itself.

I have seen more and more of these council sponsored graffiti type things though - there was a new apartment block being built for students not far from mine and they put big wooden boards up around it and let loads of local graf guys do all sorts of cool shit on the outside. It looked really good, and hid most of the building work.
But I do find a lot of it to be pure self indulgence, I know it's not a popular opinion round these parts but why the fuck would you choose to do it on someone's property rather than, I dunno, a piece of paper? Is it just a measure of forcing it into the public eye?
