Why'd they have to name it like it's a graphing calculator?

It seems cool and functional, but doesn't seem to offer anything I can't already do inside my DAW.

It was a software clone of an 80s Yamaha TX16W sampler. It was just a clone at first, but he updated it to be more like new softsamplers. It's the best thing next to Shortcircuit really.

¯\(°_o)/¯ how do you set it up so you can import just one sample and play it all over the keyboard, pitched up and down? it appears you would have to load multiple instances of the sample for each note and set the transpose parameter for each one.

Isn't this how it worked on old samplers? I've only ever had the luxury of playing with an s760 once in my life and I think I remember bitching about this very same thing.

I wish I could give you an answer, but I haven't had too much time to mess with it. I did however manage to find the manual hidden in my application support folder. Probably different if your on pc. Just figured I'd let you know the Manual is there, just takes some digging to find.

It auto maps the sample across the keyboard.
I'll need to check the actual command but it definitely works.

aha I took another look at the manual and found it. In the keyboard mapper, change 'scale' from 'fixed' to 'normal'.

YES.
And - and!- has an excellent support history. Gets lots of love from dev, not vaporware. Or vaporwave.

in terms of ease of use and such, is this any better than the EXS24?

I would say from first impressions EXS24 is a bit simpler to use, so it's going to be a toss-up between ease of use vs functionality. As far as I can make out this is a bit more powerful and goes a bit deeper than ol' EXS24.
