Hopefully this doesn't take any heat off the Obama administration for their rampant & excessive surveillance.

uhh why would it? The two issues are entirely unrelated and it was the Supreme Court that decided this, not the Obama administration.

I still don't like 'gay marriage' (or ANY marriage) as an institution, though. What about polygamous people or people who really just don't like to get married? Are they not deserving of the same 'benefits'? It's still a discriminatory policy that promotes monogamy. I prefer this over nothing, but it's not 'marriage equality' and I'm afraid it might cause other legal problems in the long run because of that.

All it takes is the Obama administration vocally supporting the court decision and he'll get approval for it, people are like that.
