Are there effects like Massive's phase modulations or the FM effect in Ableton's sampler but as a standalone effect plugin?

Yes, and FM8 can do it too. You feed it audio and it can do freq modulation on the signal

FM8 can do that, it's both a synth and a plugin.

well, Ableton has the Frequency Shifter audio effect, which also has ring modulation. is that what you're looking for?

Yeah you want a ring modulator mate

FM8 can do this? Amazing, although I feel like it will melt my hard disk with all the CPU that may take up.

Bravo Native Instruments. Next: let us make our own wavetables in massive.

My radio can do this.

Doesn't take up that much CPU, if it does, maybe you should invest in a new pc? :p

ring modular or something like waves mondo mod will do the trick.

But how do you create the Massive Phase effect in e.g. fm8?

Make the signal freq mod itself

If you're talking about ring modulation, yes you can find vst effects.
If you're talking about frequency modulation/phase modulation, that's part of FM synthesis itself. I don't think you can do that process outside of the synth....?

Yeah u can, u can the signal fm itself, not sure about any plugins that will make u able to fm a signal with other waves tho, theoretically it should be possible tho, atleast in my mind and how I see fm

Okay now i'm curious, how does it work? Does the signal FM itself?

FMMF can do frequency modulation with your own waves.

Yeah but i was thinking like in the middle of an FC Chain I smack some FM thing on, and fm the signal with a sine f example, isnt it possible?

Well the thing is, if it's just an audio signal coming in, how is it supposed to know what frequency the modulator should be it? Same thing with standalone ring modulators: They basically just LFO the volume rather than sync the rate of said LFO to the pitch of the carrier.

Just use FM8 seriously
