I am going to buy a new macbook pro and i am not sure if i should take the option to upgrade my clockspeed up to 2,6 instead of 2,3
Is this going to be Benaficial or not?

Doesn't the new mac books offer zero opportunity to further upgrades once brought?

I'd buy a used one from 2011 ( I think thats the last easily expandable generation) and upgrade that .

Clearly you don't know your macs either. The retina model is the one with glued in battery and flash storage. The older macbook pro is still available, and is just as upgradeable as ever. So why buy an old laptop with older processors when you can have a nice new one?

Oh and to the idiots saying buy a pc, its not what the op is asking for!

I'm the first person to admit I don't know a LOAD about macs - I used them for a few years in 08-11 but I am a windows/linux guy through and through, I offered my opinion from what I believed was the situation. I also questioned my own statement, and said I THINK, in my second.

Should I educate you?
