I've ust seen some Yamaha Ns10MTs online but they're second-hand from a chain. Do I just buy outright anyway or should I listen first regardless? About 240 quid

How close are you to the buyer? If you don't know them it may be worth trying to find a way to have a listen beforehand.

I went in to the shop and one of the guys working there said he tried some once but the original NS-10Ms are far better (practically told me no to buy the MT version!). They looked good to me because of the added port but he said it makes your mixes sound too boomy. They can get something from another shop delivered to test for 10% of the asking price which isn't too bad, if it was the originals I'd basically just be checking to make sure it works so I'd be willing to pay that.

There's some NS-100s on there too, 4 fucking speaker pairs. Consequently, it's got a better frequency response but I'm worried about phase issues and efficiency because they'll be wired to fucking 3 passive crossovers internally or something daft like that. I'll have to look at some reviews
