Turn Monitors Off Each Time?

Do you guys turn your monitors off after your done using them? I used to but lately I've just been leaving them on. Will any damage occur to them if they're left on? Will the amps life be reduced having constant power even though it's not drawing any significant power?
Also the pops and clicks when the computer is shut off or the interface is unplugged. My monitors have been through a number of pops and clicks from this and it doesnt seem to damage it. Just looking for some thoughts on this as I always wonder but would like to continue being lazy and keeping my monitors on because the buttons are in weird spots and i have to get on my tippy toes to turn them off.
also do they make quieter chips? i keep having to raise and lower the volume on my tv because my crunchy snacks are too loud.

Last on, first off. Every time. Those pops and clicks are not good for your monitors.

Yeah that's how I do it.
And I turn them off when I don't use them for a prolonged period of time. Like if I'm out for a few hours or at night. But when I'm just going to the kitche nto cook then I'll just leave them on. Had to turn that into a real habit, though.

First few times you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it but after 3 or 4 days it's just second nature.

Yea, it's not easy for me either. I have to reach across a dual monitor setup and three feet of work space to get to them ;p But I'd be w/o monitors for a 3-4 months if they blew.

yeah thats like how mine is. my desk is kinda big and my 24" monitor is right between my monitors so i have to reach up and over and the button is underneath the amp cooling fins so its a pain in the tits. like i said i turned them last on first off for months lol but i just recently broke the habit and have been leaving them on.

I think I left my monitors on for an entire summer once. I was super paranoid about this too and now I just turn them off before bed. This post contributes nothing, just thought I'd chime in!

Every time. I have to plug in my interface first, then turn my monitors on. You get used to it pretty quick.

FWIW I also unplug my power conditioners and strips from the wall when I'm not in the studio.

By chips i assume you mean what I call crisps. If that is the case I would recommend Wotsits, though I assume you call them Cheetos. They come with there own problems though, they can stick to your teeth, and they're pretty boring tasting too. Maybe try some rice cakes, though they are a little noisier, and are not really crisp, or chips as you say.

Do you carry a note in your pocket, that reminds you to put your foot in your shoe, before you tie your laces, or do you just ware velcro?
But seriously. Surely this is just common sence? and everyone just does it this way anyway?

yeah you european and Uk guys say crisps. makes more sense actually. in murica we call em chips and we call chips fries.
and yeah last on first off is common sense. like i said i started doing that i've just been lazy lately and wanted to ask if it was hurting anything. it seems as though leaving them on and getting the occasional pop and click isn't going to kill them right away, but certainly can reduce their life. so ill try to go hack to my old habit. thanks for the responses guys.
