Pretty simple really, in Logic can easily set up bussing and routing. In Ableton it feels for tricky, i'm wondering if there is a way i can buss/group all off my kick drum channels and then send this bus to another drum buss to apply further processing on the drum buss overall. So basically it would look like this:

Kick 1 - Kick 2 ► Kick Bus ► ▼
Snare 1 - Snare 2 ► Snare Bus ► Drum Bus
Perc 1 - Perc 2 ► Perc Bus ► ▲

I've got the solution for you, but you gotta thanks Vespers for his amazing videos.

Ok Let's Begin:

1.Drop a DrumRack on a midi channel.
2.Drop your kick Sample on Pad
3.Drop Another Kick Sample on the same Pad holding CMD.

Rinse and repeat for Snare And Percs.

This is if your intention is layering.

To route Busses:

Set Outs of your Kicks to an audio channel in that way you create a in ableton.
Repeat the same thing for Snare and perc.
Now come the tricky part:

1. Create an Audio Track
2. Drop On it a compressor (stock)
3. Click on sidechain, select your Kick Bus and click the headphones.
4. Make a rack with the compressor.
5. Create a new Chain and drop another compressor
6. Repeat Point 3 selecting snare.
7. Well you can guess the Rest.

^ that sounds way overcomplicated. OP - you just need three MIDI tracks. drop a drum rack in all three, and then put your kicks in one, snares in the second, and percs in the third. then highlight the three tracks and click command + G to group them. you're done. simple.

Or

select kick tracks -> cmd + g (group)
Repeat for snares and perc

Make a new audio track (call it drum bus), go to the audio settings of your group! Where it says master, change it to 'drum bus'. Repeat this for every group!
On your drum bus channel set your audio in to no input and push under monitor the in button!

Voila... Not that simple, Ableton really has to configure a group in group function! But I hope this will do!
The routing in ableton is a little bit different from other DAW's but you get used to it pretty quick!

Does Ableton not allow folder structured tracks?
Create a master track to use as the group header and add subsequent tracks to the group.
Effect the master track.
Do you really have to create drum busses and reroute them?

Ableton uses groups. That's exact what you are explaining!
But OP wants 3 groups in 1 group. And ableton doesn't allow that.. So you have to reroute your 3 groups to a new bus.

i'm so used to just dragging groups around into groups with reaper.

tbh I don't think OP needs to use an audio track bus at all. he could do just what I said.

but if you need a second order group, just fyi an alternative way to bus is to create a return track, send whatever you like there, and then hit "Sends Only" in the I/O section. I think this is easier than an audio track as long as you don't need to group it a third time.

thats how I do it and would reccomend.

independent channel for each percussion element, grouped to one buss, then summed/processed in parallel with a return channel
