How to make this 'bubbling' pad sound? - snakehips track

At 0.24 when the verse starts there's a pad sound in the background. It seems to have more to it than normal pads cause it kind of 'bubbles' (not referring to the side-chain compression). I was thinking maybe an arp with loads of delay and reverb then low passed. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

If you're using NI massive to recreate this it's a square wave, mess with a performer on the pitch (I'd say down ramp envelopes at 12 or 24 on the pitch), light application of sample and hold insert, and a delay effect set to some form of triplet division.

Sounds like some percussive hits wet with a million effects, like long delays reverbs and envelope follower filtering. The heavy sidechain making it pump and then the little hits sort of bubble out. It's lovely.
